Senator Brandon Beach, Sponsor of Horse Racing Legislation, To Chair Preservation of the HOPE Scholarship Study Committee.
Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle appointed the state senator from Alpharetta to the Senate Preservation of the HOPE Scholarship Program Study Committee. The Committee is also charged with considering whether to legalize casino gambling and / or bring the sport of horse racing to Georgia. The committee will hear separate testimony from casino advocates and the Georgia Horse Racing Coalition on September 14 and 15.
